Featuring: Lowest noise, highest headroom and optimisation for stereo use
The Ultra Vulture is the latest incarnation of the Culture Vulture. This model brings features from the standard Culture Vulture and the Super 15 together with a new focus on stereo use. So setup time for use on a stereo bus is now quicker and easier to achieve. The sweet spot of the controls is all centred around stereo use, giving an instantly useable enhancement by setting all main controls to 12 o’clock.
The optimisation of the circuit also brings the noise floor even further down for effective use on a stereo mix bus, or across a stereo master. Combined with the high headroom this allows the distortion valve to give an extremely useful soft limiting effect to the audio. The body of the mix can stay relatively free from distortion but the transients and peaks will be attenuated by the soft limiting effect. Allowing analogue mixes or masters to sound at least 3dB louder with no negative side effects. Of course going further than 3dB of limiting and introducing some valve harmonic content is all down to your personal taste…. all the way to severe sonic destruction if that’s what is needed!
